In the new TV ad of Cadillac from the agency Rogue, we see what is look like the American dream while the main actor (played by Neal McDonough) promotes the virtues of working hard and owning stuff. At the same time, he manages to throw a few digs at other countries for living more leisurely lifestyles and being less industrious.
“Other countries, they work. They stroll home. They stop by the cafe. They take August off. Why aren’t you like that? Why aren’t we like that? Because we’re crazy-driven, hard-working believers, that’s why.” said Neal McDonough.
While being clearly “anti French”, the ad is very humorous and hasn’t to be taken literally.
