In the wake of a unique heritage, being a watchmaker of the Royal Navy, and driven by this desire to continually outdo itself, the Breguet house unveiled last year a masterpiece of watchmaking, the model Marine Equation Marchante.
Beyond its impressive complications, this piece symbolizes the new generation of Marine timepieces, distinguished by a modern and dynamic look. In 2018, the House continues to develop this redesigned line through three new creations including titanium, a first for the collection. This line, with a revised aesthetic, mixes modernity and dynamism thanks to an original strap fastening, reworked fluting and a crown surrounded by a wave-shaped decor and an enlarged “B”. The Navy 5517 displays the date at 3 o’clock, housed in a Roman numeral clock. The latter are covered with luminescent material, as are the minute markers and Breguet “apple” needles. The marine world is recalled through the second hand decorated with a “B” in marine signals reinterpreted.
Another flagship model: the Navy Chronograph 5527. Featuring the graphic codes of the new generation of Marine parts introduced last year, this 42.3 mm timepiece sets the tone. The central chronograph hand is recognizable through a subtle marine detail. Breguet declines this novelty in several versions, anxious to offer a wide range of possibilities. A first version combines a white gold case with a blue gold dial, whose guilloche pattern “waves” reminiscent of the origins of the collection. A variation in pink gold is proposed with a guilloché silver dial. The House also offers its wearer the choice to opt for a leather or rubber strap.
