Whether you like the scent or not, unquestionably Chanel N°5 is the most iconic perfume ever.
Since they have just launched the ad campaign with Brad Pitt, it’s a good timing to post about the details of this cult perfume.
Chanel N°5 is the first perfume launched by Chanel in 1920 created by Ernest Beaux. When Ernest Beaux showed the couple of perfumes Coco Chanel would carry through with the fifth bottle as it would bring her luck. So the name of the perfume was defined at that moment.
The top notes of the perfume are ylang-ylang, neroli and aldehydes. The middle notes are jasmine and mayrose and the base notes sandal wood and vetiver.
The shape of the perfume bottle was inspired by Place Vendome. Chanel has this inspiration in its watches as well.
Brad Pitt is the first “man” that Chanel engaged for Chanel N°5 ads.
